SW/S AWARDS 2023
Join us to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Scottish Women in Sport at our 2023 Scottish Women in Sport Awards held at The Radisson Blu Hotel, Argyle St, Glasgow on Friday 24th November.
It is ten for ten this year category wise as we cover many aspects of sport from Sportswomen of the Year to Volunteer, Club to Official, and for one year only SW/S A Decade of Inspiration in Sport’.
Our aim is to recognise and celebrate the hard work, dedication and commitment that enables young girls and women to participate in every aspect of sporting life. Whether it be through individual talent, outstanding contribution, inspiring others or teamwork.
Nominate on our website and nominations will open on Monday 4th September and close on 25th September.

sportscotland SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR
We are looking for an athlete participating at senior level, who through application was selected for representation on the international stage. Any athlete who has achieved excellence in their sport during 2022/2023 season.

ISHGA PARA ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
We are looking for a para-athlete or GB Special Olympic athlete participating at senior level, who through application was selected for representation on the international stage. Any athlete who has achieved excellence in their sport during 2022/2023 season.

SW/S – A DECADE OF INSPIRATION IN SPORT
To commemorate 10 years of SW/S, our inspiration in sport this year will focus on an individual who has made a continuous impact in sport in a leadership capacity, within the past 10 years. This could be an athlete at the top of her game, CEO, administrator, campaigner – basically anyone who has impacted positively on women in sport in the past decade.

GRM YOUNG SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR
We are looking for an individual, participating at junior level, who through application was selected for representation on the international stage. Any athlete who has achieved excellence in their sport during season 2022/2023 born after December 2004.

TEAM SCOTLAND – TEAM OF THE YEAR
This award recognises the high-quality achievements of a team over the last year/season and reflects on how they have achieved excellent performance results. The team winning this award must have achieved sporting excellence whilst encompassing good practice within their structure.

Frame COACH/MANAGER OF THE YEAR
The Coach of the Year award is open to coaches at all levels in sport and will be presented to the individual who imparts knowledge and expertise within their chosen sport, ensuring Fair Play at all times.

MG Alba SPORTING CHAMPION OF THE YEAR
This award is open to teams and clubs at junior and or senior level within sport and will recognise their impact within their community. The application should reflect on how they engage with their local community, supporting current members and growing their team or club. The team or club must be in membership of a recognised sporting organisation

UWS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
This award is presented to person or group of people who in the opinion of the panel worked tirelessly in the background to support athletes or clubs during the past year. This award is open to anyone, who has a volunteering role within sport. This could be a family member, guardian, teacher, coach etc. who through volunteering and dedication make a difference to their chosen sport.

CAMERON COMMERCIALS PIONEER IN SPORT
Following our first Pioneers in Sport lunch in March 2018, we continue to induct into the SW/S Hall of Fame, celebrating this pioneering spirit. For this award we are looking for a woman who through her work in sport, which may have largely have gone unrecognised, whether on or off the field, has empowered and inspired women and girls to participate in sport today.

Active Scotland MOST VALUABLE PARTNERSHIP
We are all aware of the importance of sponsorship and having a relationship with a partner organisation who reflects the values of the sport. This relationship is not specifically about financial investment, but rather one that complements and works with sport to actively promote and support women in sport. It could be a media partner, kit supplier or services in-kind.
