THURSDAY 16TH JUNE 2016 | IN ASSOCIATION WITH SSE
Our Annual Conference took place at RBS Gogarburn for a day of discussion, debate and networking with lunch provided.
Our focus was on Education, and we asked – is it the key to participation in sport?
We looked at the role of schools in developing physical literacy in our young people and in promoting and supporting active lifestyles within the curriculum and through the general culture of the school.
We heard from the experts who are looking at the many ways we can understand the needs of our girls and young women and encourage more to participate in sport.
Our panel of experts discussed the changes to the curriculum that will require local authorities to implement the new standardised assessments, in reading, writing & numeracy, in P1, P4, P7 and S3 from this year. We asked “why not physical literacy?”
